Recreational Gymnastics
We offer daytime and after school recreational gymnastics classes. Our daytime classes, Gymtots and Leapfrogs, are suitable for children from walking to age 3+, and our after school classes are for children aged 3+.
All our recreational gymnasts have the opportunity to work their way through our Club Assessment Proficiency Awards.
For pricing and class availability please contact us, all our classes must be booked in advance. We offer the option to pay for one class initially as a taster session, and if you wish to continue with classes you will sign up for the rest of our term with fees payable in advance.
Gymtots classes are daytime parent and child classes for children from walking – approx 3 years old.
The class is led by a coach who is on hand to demonstrate, encourage and advise parents and children how to use the equipment in a relaxed environment.
The ‘Gymtots’ programme aims to develop:
-your childs fine and gross motor skill development, and balance and co-ordination
– their awareness of colours, spatial and perceptual awareness
-early socialization skills and listening skills
Leapfrogs classes are daytime parent-free classes for children approx. 3+ years old.
The ‘Leapfrogs’ programme aims to develop:
-physical strength and muscle control, fine and gross motor skills, and balance and co-ordination
-language development and self-expression, spatial and perceptual awareness, and initial problem-solving
-independence and feeling confident away from parents, sharing and taking turns, following directions and listening skills
All children taking part in our after school classes will follow our Club Assessment Proficiency Awards Scheme.
All younger classes start on our Leapfrog assessment scheme with them being able to achieve level 1-3 before moving on to the next level Bronze. These assessments are done using all pieces of apparatus in the gym and cover all aspects of gymnastics, from balancing, jumping, strength and co-ordination.
Older classes start on Bronze level with the aim of being able to achieve all the way up to Gold level assessments. All colour assessments consist of 4 levels of assessments before the gymnast will move on to the next colour stage.

Assessment will be carried out three times over the gymnastics year, normally around autumn, easter and just before summer.
